Burst mode — between contractions

• Two burst modes track your labour from start to end.
• In early labour, the pulsing rhythm between contractions is already building your body's own pain-relief chemicals — endorphins and enkephalins — so each contraction meets more of your own capacity.
• When contractions pick up pace, the second mode adjusts with you.
• A soft, rhythmic sensation, there even in the quiet between waves.

Boost mode — during contractions

• When the wave begins, you press Boost. Instant surge — matched to the contraction, always in your hands.
• Two modes keep pace with where you are: one for early labour, one for when contractions are stronger and closer together.
• When the wave passes, press again — you're back in Burst.

Opti-Max — when you need to go deeper

• Opti-Max adjusts the depth of each pulse — not just how strong it feels, but how far it reaches.
• Five levels, adjustable in either direction, any time the intensity calls for it.
• You'll only find it on Elle TENS machines.

Contraction timer

Your body has a rhythm, and you'll see it at a glance — no app, no stopwatch, nothing extra to think about.

Every time you press the Boost button, your Elle TENS 2 quietly starts timing: how long each contraction lasts and, when you press it again, how long until the next one begins.

And you'll see the moment your rhythm changes — contractions growing longer, closer, stronger — so you and your partner will know, at a glance, when things are truly moving.

Backlit screen

Your screen stays readable whatever the hour, wherever you are — settings, timer, everything at a glance, without turning on a light or asking anyone.

The best time to meet your Elle TENS® is weeks before you need it. These six steps take about five minutes to run through — practise a few times from 37 weeks, and on the day they'll be second nature.

Your birth partner can help position the pads on your back — four electrodes, easier with two pairs of hands.

1. Peel the four electrode pads and place them on clean, dry skin — two pairs on the back, either side of the spine — one pair at bra-strap level, one pair just below your waist, at your panty line.
2. Connect the leadwires and turn your machine on. It starts in Burst mode automatically.
3. Raise the intensity until you feel a soft, steady pulse. Between contractions, let it run — it keeps building your body's natural pain relief in the background.
4. When a wave begins, press Boost once — no need to hold it — and the pulses become continuous through the contraction. When the wave passes, press it again and you're back in Burst.
5. As your labour builds, switch to Mode 2 when you're ready — the rhythm doubles, from one burst per second to two, to meet stronger contractions. You'll know when.
6. Adjust the intensity — up or down — to what feels right to you. For more depth, bring Opti-Max in, deeper or back, any time you need it.

Your Elle TENS® is meticulously sanitised, cleaned and tested before it's sent to you, so it arrives ready for you to use.

We'll take care of any issue that arises during your rental, straight away. A replacement or refund for a faulty machine, and help whenever you need it. Email elletens@nowforbeyond.com with a video or photo of the issue.
